My Biography:I originally attended college at Fairfield University in Connecticut but after 2 years I transferred to the University of Denver in Colorado where I received a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Political Science in 1981. I then continued studying at the University of Denver at the business school before attending the Graduate School of International Studies.
After that I opened a painting business and I eventually got my contractor's license. I spent 10 years working in the painting business. I entered law school in August of 1994 and I received my J.D. from California Western School of Law in 1997. After graduation I opened a retail furniture store in the Cedros Design District in Solana Beach CA. which I closed two years later.
I passed the bar exam in June of 2002 and I then opened my law practice. After volunteering at Legal Aid for six months I started an Immigration law practice and then I tried Unlawful Detainer (evictions) until I settled on the practice of Bankruptcy law. I now practice exclusively in the area of Bankruptcy.
Unique Qualifications: My background in business helps me to understand the serious problem of debt. I realize the difficulties that people can run into when they try to keep their businesses operating without having them collapse from the accumulated debt. Often people will mortgage their house with equity loans and incur a tremendous amount of credit card debt in this endeavor. I understand how debt can be a constant source of stress and frustration. Getting into debt in one's personal life can be equally stressful and devastating. It's easy to slip into debt while trying to run a business that is producing little profit or while working at a job and paying life's expenses.
I also understand that Bankruptcy is available to free people from debt. I have helped hundreds of people discharge their debts in Bankruptcy and get a fresh start. This means to you that after the Bankruptcy is over (in around 90 days), you no longer owe the debt. This goes for debt from cars, houses, credit cards, medical issues, or personal and business loans. As a bankruptcy attorney I can also stop the creditor harassment as soon as you hire me. Creditors are not allowed to contact you once they know you have hired an attorney to represent you.
I belong to the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum as well as the San Diego County Bar Association. Check out my Bankruptcy information section and my Bankruptcy issues section as I will continually update these. Also check out my blog on Bankruptcy as I will address bankruptcy issues on an ongoing basis in there too.
Please call me right away with your questions so I can assess your case. When you call, you will be able to talk to me and not some legal assistant.
